Desiccants for electronics
Boards, connectors and machined metal do not forgive moisture: vapour condenses on the surface, forms a film of water and opens the way to contact corrosion, ionic migration between traces and terminal oxidation — failures that show up weeks later, already at the customer.
GRF supplies the desiccant that travels inside the package: silica gel from 0.5 gram for the item, bentonite from 0.5 g to 1 kg for the carton and the equipment, and calcium chloride for the container that carries it all.
The problem
The failure shows up later, and nobody blames moisture
Between the assembly line and final installation, an electronic device passes through storage, transport, a container and a warehouse. Every temperature swing along the way pushes the air closer to its dew point, and moisture condenses exactly where it should not: on the board, inside the connector and on the machined surface.
The result is rarely immediate. It is a contact whose resistance creeps up, a terminal that oxidises, a dendrite growing between closely spaced traces under bias that causes an intermittent short, and optics that fog. By the time the unit fails in the field, the root cause is no longer visible.
Moisture-sensitive components also take up water in the mould compound. Soldered in that state, the vapour expands during reflow and causes internal delamination. Keeping the item dry inside the package is part of the process, not an extra.

Adsorption without liquid
Silica gel holds moisture in the pores of the bead and stays dry to the touch. It does not dissolve or form a solution near electronics.
Bentonite from 0.5 g to 1 kg
Dry Pack in nonwoven for cartons, equipment packaging and larger air volumes, with a neutral and inert formulation.
Direct contact with the product
Both materials are non-toxic, odourless and chemically inert, suitable to sit next to the packaged item.
Custom fill weight
The sachet is sized according to the headspace volume, the barrier material and the transit or storage time.
Made in Brazil
Manufactured in Sorocaba, with domestic lead times and no import cost.

Frequently asked questions about desiccants for electronics
Silica gel or bentonite for electronics?
Both work, and the choice comes down to air volume and location. Silica gel goes next to the item, inside the primary package, and works well in small sachets from 0.5 g. Dry Pack bentonite covers the carton and the equipment, with sachets from 0.5 g to 1 kg. In many operations both coexist: silica gel on the item, bentonite in the carton.
Can the sachet touch the board?
Yes. Silica gel and bentonite are non-toxic, odourless and chemically inert, and the sachet is sealed. For applications requiring a tougher pouch and a particle barrier, we supply silica gel in DuPont Tyvek®.
How many grams of desiccant does my package need?
It depends on the free headspace volume, the permeability of the barrier material, the relative humidity you need to maintain and the transit or storage time. Send those figures to our technical team and the fill weight is sized with you.
Does it work for container exports?
Inside the carton, yes — silica gel and Dry Pack keep protecting the item. For the container air, which is a far larger volume, the right product is Dry Box calcium chloride, hung on the walls. The two layers of protection are complementary.
